WKU Soccer claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Louisiana Tech.
In the late-game stretch, the Hilltoppers edged out Louisiana Tech on a stroke of luck as freshman forward Mekenna Egan’s shot ricocheted off an LA Tech defender for their lone goal.
WKU Soccer began the first half with a physical approach that limited LA Tech’s offense, resulting in three missed targets. Despite their defensive success, the Hilltoppers were unable to establish any offensive momentum, forcing eight shots, with only two on goal.
Coming out of halftime break, the Hilltoppers’ offense found more success, executing well-timed and coordinated passes that led to quality scoring opportunities.
Louisiana Tech’s offense collapsed against the Lady Toppers’ defense, masking only three targets on seven attempts.
WKU Soccer will travel to Huntsville, Texas on Oct. 5 to face Sam Houston.
