WKU Football will look to continue their win streak as they host FIU on Tuesday night at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
The Hilltoppers are coming off two Conference USA road matchups with their last coming with a win over Delaware, 27-24. The win elevated the Tops to a 5-1 start, their best start in a season since 2015.
Quarterback Maverick McIvor threw for 230 yards and a touchdown, while totaling 36 yards on the ground.
The Hilltoppers lead Conference USA with a record of 3-0 in conference play.
The Panthers are looking to bounce back after a loss on the road to Connecticut, 51-10, which dropped their overall record to 2-3.
“They’re a big, physical football team and we need to play very, very well,” Head Coach Tyson Helton said. “It will be great to be back home after being on the road for two consecutive games.”
Panthers senior running back Kejon Owens has had a strong season, rushing for 463 yards and five touchdowns. Junior quarterback Keyone Jenkins has thrown for 775 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
“Their quarterback is an elite guy with his legs and throwing the ball,” Defensive Coordinator Da’von Brown said. “It’s going to be a big challenge.”
Before the game, a concert featuring country hip-hop artist Blanco Brown starts at 5:30 p.m. on the South Lawn.
This game will be the annual blackout game; fans are encouraged to wear black. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
