WKU Women’s Basketball begins its 2025-26 season with an exhibition game against the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders Wednesday at Diddle Arena.
A semifinal loss to Middle Tennessee State in the Conference USA tournament concluded the Lady Toppers’ 2024-25 season. WKU lost six players to either graduation or the transfer portal following the loss, including leading scorers Alexis Mead and Josie Gilvin.
With many shoes to fill, senior forward Zsofia Telegdy and sophomore guard Trinity Rowe inherit “a big role” on the team this season, according to Head Coach Greg Collins.
Telegdy consistently started for the Lady Toppers last season, averaging 8.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. She also made 35 3-pointers, finishing only behind Gilvin, 50, and Mead, 56.
Rowe became a Lady Topper after spending a year as a University of Southern Mississippi Lady Eagle, averaging 7.1 points and 2.6 assists per game.
The Lady Toppers added six new players to their roster on top of Rowe.
Lindsey Wilson finished the 2024-25 season with a 16-14 overall record and a 3-9 conference record.
The Blue Raiders return to action following two postseason losses, the first of which was a 48-46 quarterfinal loss to Freed-Hardeman in the 2025 Mid-South Conference Tournament.
An at-large bid qualified Lindsey Wilson for the 2025 NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship, but a 70-61 first-round loss to William Carey University (Mississippi) officially ended its season.
The Blue Raiders ranked 24th on this season’s NAIA Women’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
Lindsey Wilson started its 2025-26 season last Friday with a 105-50 win over Union Commonwealth (Kentucky).
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29 in Diddle Arena.
