WKU Soccer will face Missouri State this Sunday in the first round of the Conference USA tournament in Lynchburg.
The Hilltoppers defeated the Bears during the regular season in a 4-3 thriller thanks to a last-minute goal scored by sophomore Alyvia Walls. The win gave WKU the first seed over Liberty on a tiebreaker for results over common opponents.
WKU won over Jacksonville State 1-0 in its last regular-season game. Junior midfielder Georgia Liapis scored the solo goal in the game. Liapis was named CUSA Midfielder of the Year after leading the team with nine goals.
Missouri State tied 1-1 against FIU in their last regular-season game. The Bears ended the CUSA season with a 2-3-3, securing the eighth seed, and did not win in the final five games of the season.
The winner of the game will play the winner of the No. 4 MTSU vs No. 5 FIU game. On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Liberty faces No. 7 LA Tech and No. 3 Sam Houston plays No. 6 Delaware.
Kick-off is set for 3:30 CT, and the game is streaming on ESPN+.
