WKU Volleyball travels to Miami to compete in the Conference USA tournament hosted by FIU on Friday, Nov.21. The Hilltoppers earned a share of the regular season title with UTEP and enter the tournament as the second seed.
The Hilltoppers will open the tournament, taking on the seventh seed, New Mexico State Aggies. WKU and NMSU did not meet in the regular season.
WKU and the Aggies met last year in the championship game, where the Hilltoppers won 3-1.
“New Mexico State’s used to being there and playing deep into it. We know the challenge they’ll be in the first round,” Head Coach Travis Hudson said.
The Hilltoppers are led by the Alyssa Cavanaugh player and setter of the year, senior Callie Bauer. She has led WKU to the third-best hitting percentage in the country at .307. Sophomore outside hitter Alivia Skidmore has been the go-to for the Hilltopper offense, with 316 kills.
NMSU is led by junior outside hitter Maggie Lightheart. Lightheart earned CUSA All-Conference second team, racking up 339 kills.
First serve is set for 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
