WKU Women’s Basketball will face Illinois Wednesday evening for its second road test of the season.
The Lady Toppers fell 87-49 to Vanderbilt last Wednesday night in Diddle Arena, bringing their overall record to 2-3. WKU struggled on nearly all fronts, shooting just 18-56 from the field and committing 25 turnovers.
Redshirt sophomore Tatum Boettjer led the Lady Toppers in scoring against the Commodores with 12, followed by senior guard Tia Shelling’s 11. Sophomore guard Salma Khedr still leads WKU in points per game with 10.6.
Illinois took an 86-63 victory at Florida State Sunday afternoon. The Fighting Illini are 4-1 overall.
Sophomore forward Berry Wallace leads Illinois with 21 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
WKU has not faced Illinois in 15 years. The Lady Toppers last fell to the Fighting Illini 68-51 in March 2010.
