WKU Volleyball travels to the University of Louisville to face the Marquette Golden Eagles in the first round of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.
The Hilltoppers will take on Marquette on Friday, Dec 5 WKU earned a seventh seed bid after taking home the CUSA tournament championship in a five-set thriller.
The Hilltoppers and Golden Eagles met earlier this season, where Marquette swept WKU.
“We have grown from that time. But it will take some growth to be a perennial NCAA tournament team,” Head Coach Travis Hudson said.
WKU is led by CUSA setter and player of the year, senior Callie Bauer. Bauer has led the Hilltoppers to the third-best hitting percentage in the country, .312.
Marquette comes off the Big East semifinals, where they were swept by the Creighton Blue Jays.
The Golden Eagles are led by senior outside hitter Natalie Ring with 452 kills. Marquette’s offense moves through freshman setter Isabela Haggard with 908 assists.
If seeds were to uphold, the Hilltoppers will have a second-round rematch against the Louisville Cardinals.
