WKU Women’s Basketball team will finish out its nonconference slate on the road against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Friday night.
The Lady Toppers are coming off a dominant 80-50 win over North Dakota Sunday afternoon, moving their record to 4-6 overall. Five Lady Toppers scored in double-digits.
Senior forward Zsofia Telegdy led the Lady Toppers’ well-oiled machine against the Fighting Hawks, totaling 15 points and eight rebounds. Telegdy leads the Lady Toppers in rebounds per game with 5.2.
Senior forward Jeniffer Silva continues to be consistent for the Lady Toppers. Her 9.4 points per game is a team-high, and she leads Conference USA in blocks (18) and blocks per game (1.8).
The Mocs sit at 6-5 on the season after an 81-51 win over Tennessee State.
Sophomore forward Gianna Corbitt and junior guard Caia Elisaldez lead the Mocs, averaging a combined 30 points per game. Corbitt’s 15.4 points per game leads the Southern Conference.
The Lady Toppers face the Mocs for the first time in over 40 years. The all-time series is tied 1-1, with the Lady Toppers taking the last win 71-44 in Feb. 1983.
