WKU men’s basketball travels to Jacksonville, Alabama, to open Conference USA play against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
The Hilltoppers stand at 7-4 on the season following a loss to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 82-81. Redshirt sophomore guard Teagan Moore leads the Hilltoppers, averaging 17.4 points per game.
Senior forward Grant Newell and freshman guard Armelo Boone average 12 points per game for the Hilltoppers. Newell comes off a season-high 28 points against the Golden Hurricane.
Boone has been a spark off the bench for the Hilltoppers in his first season, earning CUSA freshman of the week four times.
Jacksonville State defeated the Hilltoppers in both meetings last season. The Gamecocks currently stand at 5-6 on the season, following an 81-75 win over East Tennessee State.
JSU is led by senior guard Mostapha El Moutaouakkil, averaging 18.6 PPG and 7.5 rebounds per game.
