WKU Women’s Basketball begins Conference USA play with a road game at Jacksonville State Friday night.
The Lady Toppers moved to 4-7 on the season after a 59-58 loss to Chattanooga Dec. 19. Sophomore forward Torri James and sophomore guard Trinity Rowe finished as the leading scorers against the Mocs. James posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Rowe totaled 16 points on 57% 3-point shooting.
James moved into the leading scorer and rebounder positions for WKU, averaging 10.0 points and 5.3 boards per game. Five other Lady Toppers are averaging at least eight points per game.
Jacksonville State placed last in the 2025-26 CUSA Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll. The Gamecocks finished their nonconference slate with a 6-6 record following a 74-39 win at Presbyterian.
Graduate forward Mya Barnes posted a double-double of 12 points and 12 boards against Presbyterian. She leads the Gamecocks in points (10.5), 3-pointers (1.7), rebounds (7.6) and blocks (1.2) per game.
The Lady Toppers have never fallen to the Gamecocks in their previous four meetings. Most recently, WKU earned a 68-64 overtime win over JSU in a Feb. 2025 competition in Diddle Arena.
Friday night’s matchup will be the Lady Toppers’ fourth game of their five-game away stretch.
