WKU Men’s Basketball aims to snap a two-game losing streak as they host Sam Houston at Diddle Arena on Friday.
The Hilltoppers are fresh off a humbling 78-67 road loss to Jacksonville State that was never competitive. The loss dropped the Hilltoppers to 7-5 (0-1 CUSA) on the season.
“We didn’t get off to the start we wanted to,” Head Coach Hank Plona said. “Second straight road performance where we’ve really been sluggish coming out of the gate, so we’re working on figuring out how to improve that.”
Freshman guard Armelo Boone led the way for the Hilltoppers with 18 points, marking the third straight game of at least 16 points.
Sophomore guard Teagan Moore totaled 17 points and six rebounds, marking his eleventh game with double-digit scoring this season.
The Hilltopper offense shot 31% from the field and just 25% from behind the arc in the loss.
Sam Houston is fresh off a 117-57 win over the College of Biblical Studies, which moved the Bearkats’ record to 8-4 (0-1 CUSA) on the season.
Sophomore forward Isaiah Manning totaled a season-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Manning averages 12.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in just 20 minutes per game.
The Hilltoppers are 1-3 against the Bearkats since Sam Houston joined CUSA in the 2023-24 season.
Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. CT, and the game can be streamed on ESPN+.
