WKU Women’s Basketball looks to snap its two-game losing streak, hosting the Liberty Lady Flames Thursday night in Diddle Arena.
The Lady Toppers’ took road losses to Sam Houston (50-38) and Louisiana Tech (79-65) last week, dropping WKU to 5-12 overall (1-5 CUSA). The Lady Toppers have dropped eight of their last 10 games, falling to last-place in conference.
Senior forward Zsofia Telegdy is WKU’s consistent offensive and defensive output. She leads the Lady Toppers in rebounds per game (4.5) and is tied with sophomore guard Salma Khedr for the leading scorer, both averaging 9.4 points per game.
Liberty ranks eighth among CUSA after falling 76-69 at Delaware Saturday night. The Lady Flames are on a three-game losing streak, dropping their record to 8-8 on the season (2-3 CUSA).
Liberty is tied with the University of Texas at El Paso for the third-best offense in CUSA, averaging 67.3 points per game. Leading the Lady Flames’ offense are sophomore guard Avery Mills and sophomore center Emmy Stout. Mills’ team-high 15.9 points per game ranks fourth in the conference, and Stout’s 15.1 points per game ranks sixth.
Liberty has dominated the series in recent years, winning six of their last seven contests. The Lady Toppers fell to the Lady Flames twice last season.
Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday night in Diddle Arena.
