WKU Men’s Basketball continues its three-game road stretch, traveling to Kennesaw, Georgia, to take on the Kennesaw State Owls Wednesday night.
This will be the second matchup between the Hilltoppers and Owls this season. Kennesaw State defeated WKU at Diddle Arena earlier this season, 81-65.
Senior guard Ryan Myers led the Hilltoppers with 16 points and three assists. Kennesaw State’s redshirt sophomore guard RJ Johnson dominated with 31 points and nine rebounds.
The Hilltoppers are on a three-game losing streak. WKU’s offense stalled in their latest loss to Sam Houston Saturday night, without their two leading scorers.
“We need to play with a lot more confidence and pace than we did on Saturday,” Head Coach Hank Plona said.
Redshirt sophomore guard Teagan Moore and freshman guard Armelo Boone are expected to miss their second straight game. Moore leads the Hilltoppers with 17.2 points per game, and Boone contributes 11.8 points per game and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.
“I would be surprised if he (Teagan Moore) played Wednesday or Saturday, but I do think Armelo Boone is possible for Saturday,” Plona said.
WKU will look for players to step up in the absence of Moore and Boone. Myers and senior forward Grant Newell are the only other Hilltoppers averaging double-digits; Myers averages 10.1 points, and Newell averages 11.1 points per game.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.
