WKU Women’s Basketball looks to snap a five-game losing streak as it faces Florida International on the road Thursday night.
The Lady Toppers are last in Conference USA, sitting at 5-15 (1-8 CUSA) following an 81-58 road loss at Middle Tennessee State last Saturday. The Lady Raiders simply outplayed the Lady Toppers, taking a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never letting up.
Sophomore guard Salma Khedr is the only Lady Topper averaging double figures with 10.1 per game. Her team-highs in points (13) and rebounds (seven) led WKU against MTSU. Senior forward Zsofia Telegdy leads the Lady Toppers on the boards, averaging 4.7.
Forward Torri James played just eight minutes against the Lady Raiders. She earned a start against Delaware Jan. 23 but similarly only played 11 minutes due to an undisclosed injury.
FIU is tied with Jacksonville State for fifth place in CUSA. The Panthers fell to the Delaware Blue Hens Sunday afternoon, dropping them to 12-8 (5-4 CUSA).
Panthers junior guard Rhema Collins was named CUSA Player of the Week on Feb. 2. She leads the conference in average scoring (18.6) and rebounding (4.3). She ranks 16th in the nation with her conference-high 10 double-doubles this season.
The Lady Toppers hold a 38-13 all-time record against the Panthers, and the teams split their contests last season.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
