WKU Baseball welcomes Southeast Missouri State Redhawks for a four-game series this weekend at Nick Denes Field.
The Hilltoppers are coming off a four-game series split against BYU. Across the series, the teams both scored 19 runs.
Six of WKU’s 19 runs came from home runs, two of which came from junior infielder Lane Arroyos, who had five RBI in the weekend.
However, WKU went just 13-62 with runners on base and left 37 of them on base.
Another struggle came in the form of the bullpen, which gave up 13 of BYU’s runs. The bullpen also had a blown safe and allowed the Cougars to score two runs in the ninth in games one and two.
The Redhawks come to Bowling Green with a 2-2 record after a 2-1 series loss against Illinois State. SEMO was outscored 20-17 in the series and was held to just one run in the first game.
SEMO is coming off an 11-3 win against Saint Louis. Senior Moises Rosario paved the way for the win going 3-4 with four RBI.
The Hilltoppers are 2-1 against the Redhawks after their series matchup in 2024. WKU scored 22 runs in the series while SEMO scored 13.
Game one starts at 3 p.m. on Friday, the series will continue as a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. The series will close on Sunday starting at 12 p.m.
