WKU Men’s Basketball travels to Lynchburg, Virginia to take on the Liberty Flames Saturday afternoon, looking to extend its three-game win streak.
The Hilltoppers are hot off the heels of a nail-biting win over the Delaware Blue Hens Wednesday night, 88-87 in overtime. With the win, WKU is tied for third in Conference USA with Jacksonville State and Louisiana Tech, each sitting at 8-7.
WKU has balanced out its offense, with four Hilltoppers averaging 10 or more points a game. Senior guard Ryan Myers was the hot hand last outing, sealing the game for WKU with two free throws. Myers finished the night with 22 points, along with redshirt sophomore guard Teagan Moore contributing a team high 27.
“Ryan played with the intent to win,” Head Coach Hank Plona said.
Liberty has been unstoppable in CUSA this season, with a 23-3 record and an undefeated 15-0 record in the conference.
“We have our work cut out for us. We will prepare on Friday and give our best effort to come out with a two-game winning road trip,” Plona said.
The Flames come off a thrilling win Thursday night against FIU, 90-89, continuing their hot streak. Liberty continues to have a superb offense, with five players averaging double figures. Sophomore guard Brett Decker Jr leads Liberty with 17 points per game.
The Hilltoppers and Flames met earlier this season in Diddle Arena with Liberty coming out with the 76-69 win. WKU looks to end their two-game losing streak against Liberty dating back to last season.
Tip-off is set for 3 p.m., and can be streamed on ESPN+.
