WKU Men’s Basketball returns to Diddle Arena on a four-game win streak Thursday night against New Mexico State.
The Hilltoppers are red hot, coming off a dominant win over Conference USA leader Liberty 94-73, Saturday afternoon.
“When you play really well against a good team, I think it really sticks with you,” Head Coach Hank Plona said.
After a sluggish month of January, WKU has been unstoppable in February, with a 4-1 record. During their four-game win streak, the Hilltoppers are averaging 86 points per game while holding opponents to 77.5.
Sophomore redshirt guard Teagan Moore has been leading the charge for WKU all season. Moore is averaging 18.3 points per game and 25.3 points per game in the last three.
New Mexico State comes off a win against UTEP 67-63 Saturday night. The Aggies are tied for ninth in CUSA with a 13-13 record and 6-10 in CUSA.
NMSU is led by senior guard Jemel Jones, averaging 17.1 points per game.
The Hilltoppers and Aggies met earlier this season in Las Cruces, where NMSU won 80-64. In that game, Jones finished with 24 points for the Aggies.
“We had a really bad start to the game. I don’t think that loss has any bearing as to where we are right now,” Plona said.
The Hilltoppers sit third in CUSA with a 9-7 record and 16-11 overall. After a four-game losing streak, WKU fell to 4-6, eighth in the conference to end January, before their resurgence.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m., and can be streamed on ESPN+.
