WKU Softball looks to continue its hot start to the season in the Hilltopper Spring Fling Feb. 27-Mar. 1.
The Hilltoppers will face Illinois and IU Indy on Friday, Illinois and Ball State on Saturday, with one final game against IU Indy on Sunday.
The Hilltoppers are off to a 10-3 record to start the season following a weekend sweep in the Hilltopper Classic.
WKU went 4-0 over the weekend by defeating Butler, Detroit Mercy and Western Michigan twice. The Hilltoppers outscored their opponents 33-7 in the series.
The Hilltoppers hit .443 over the weekend, upping their average to .339 on the season. WKU’s offense also totaled six home runs in the series, the most in a series this season.
Junior infielder Morgan Sharpe hit a staggering .667 on the weekend. Sharpe averages .366 on the season.
This will be the first meeting all-time against Illinois. The Fighting Illini are led by Adisyn Caryl, who averages a .405 batting average.
IU Indy sits at 3-8 on the season following a loss against Kent State. Molly Kable leads the team with a .464 batting average, with thirteen hits on the season.
Ball State sits at 4-4 after a sweep of Long Island. The offense is powered by Skylinn Pogue and Ella Whitney, each with a .462 batting average.
The first game against Illinois on Friday is set for 3 p.m. CT.
