WKU Men’s basketball closes out its regular season this week with a two game road trip, beginning with Missouri State Tuesday night.
The Hilltoppers are the hottest team in Conference USA, currently on a six game win streak. During the win streak, WKU is averaging 89 points per game while holding opponents to just 74.
It has been an all around effort for the Hilltoppers during this win streak, with three players averaging 10 or more points. Redshirt sophomore guard Teagan Moore leads the charge with 24.6 points per game, with senior forward Grant Newell averaging 18.8 points per game and senior guard Ryan Myers averaging 13.5 points per game.
“He (Teagan) has been very efficient on the offensive end. He is shooting 55,60,65% every single game. He just needs to make the right plays for us to be successful,” Head Coach Hank Plona said.
Missouri State looks to get back into the win column, currently on a seven game losing streak. Despite the tough losses, the Bears have lost by just five or less points in their last four games.
“Every single game they play has been competitive and close. I just know every single game they are in they can win,” Plona said.
The Bears have a balanced attack, with seven or more players averaging five or more points per game. Senior forward Keith Palek lll leads Missouri State with 18.1 points per game.
WKU and Missouri State met earlier this season in Diddle Arena where the Hilltoppers were able to pick up the win 87-72.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.
