WKU Women’s Basketball will host Missouri State Thursday night in Diddle Arena to begin a two-game homestand that closes out the 2026 regular season.
The Lady Toppers most recently fell to Liberty 60-54 on the road last Saturday afternoon. Despite having an eight-point lead at halftime, they scored just three points in the third quarter, which fueled the Lady Flames’ comeback and victory.
The loss dropped WKU to 8-19 overall and 4-12 in Conference USA. The Lady Toppers remain in last place in conference standings at 12th. UTEP and New Mexico State are tied for 10th place, both with a 5-11 CUSA record. Only the top 10 teams advance to the CUSA tournament next week.
Senior guard Tia Shelling led WKU offensively against Liberty, scoring 13 points. Sophomore guard Salma Khedr contributed nine, but she still averages a team-high 10.6 points, good for 21st in the conference.
Missouri State (18-11, 10-6 CUSA) is tied with Florida International and Middle Tennessee for second place in conference standings. The Lady Bears are on a three-game winning streak, most recently defeating FIU 69-38 at home Feb. 26.
Missouri State is led by junior guard Kaemyn Bekemeier and sophomore forward Lainie Douglas. Bekemeier leads the conference in scoring, putting up 17.4 points per game. Douglas was named the most recent CUSA Player of the Week after scoring 20 points in each of Missouri State’s two games last week.
The Lady Toppers hold a 4-5 all-time record against the Lady Bears. This season, WKU fell on the road to Missouri State 75-52 Feb. 7.
Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in Diddle Arena.
