WKU Softball enters conference play with a weekend series against Missouri State at the WKU Softball Complex, March 6-8.
The Hilltoppers are off to a flying 15-3 start, their best since the 2022 season. The team is also a perfect 9-0 at home.
The team went 5-0 in the Hilltopper Spring Fling series last weekend, defeating Illinois twice, Indiana University-Indianapolis twice and Ball State once.
Sophomore right-hander Erica Houge threw the first no-hitter by a WKU pitcher in seven years against IU Indy on Sunday. The performance was the 14th no-hitter in program history.
Houge earned Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors for the performance, marking the second time she has received the award this season.
Junior infielder Annie White received CUSA Player of the Week, following an elite weekend at the plate, including a .529 batting average and just one strikeoutin 21 appearances. This is her first time receiving the award in her career.
Missouri State sits with an 11-8 record after a loss to 12th-ranked Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Wednesday.
The Hilltoppers are 3-1 all-time against Missouri State. WKU won 1-0 last season at Eddie C. Moore Complex in their lone game against the Bears.
The series starts with a doubleheader on Friday, first pitch is set for 3 p.m. CT, and the second game will follow at 6 p.m. CT.
