WKU Softball closes out its four-game homestand with a midweek matchup against Lipscomb Tuesday evening.
The Hilltoppers are coming off a series sweep over Sam Houston last week. They defeated the Bearkats 9-1 (run-rule) and 6-1 on Thursday and closed out the series sweep Friday with a 7-4 victory.
WKU now holds a 27-8 overall record and a 11-4 Conference USA record. The Hilltoppers are tied with the Liberty Flames for second in CUSA and have accumulated a five-game winning streak.
WKU hit a whopping .405 over the series against Sam Houston, highlighted by a total of seven home runs.Â
Redshirt senior outfielder Jenna Blanton hit an inside-the-park home run in game one for her first homer this season. She ranks second in CUSA in batting average (.459).
Junior infielder Maci Masters led WKU’s scoring in game two with a pair of two-RBI blasts. Her 11 homers this season lead WKU and are tied for fourth in CUSA.
The Hilltoppers still rank first in the conference in batting average (.341) and ERA (2.67).
Lipscomb holds a 9-28 overall record and a 2-10 Atlantic Sun Conference Gold Division record. The Bison rank last among all of ASUN.
Lipscomb was swept by North Alabama last weekend in a three-game series. The Bison are on a six-game losing streak.
Junior Macyn Kirby leads Lipscomb’s offense with team-highs in batting average (.459) and hits (50).
WKU and Lipscomb’s all-time record is tied at 18-18. However, WKU trails 8-7 when playing at home. The Hilltoppers won the last matchup in April 2025, 8-3.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at the WKU Softball Complex.
