A Financial Success Presentation about “Post-Graduation Planning” will be held on Tuesday in Gary Ransdell Hall.

Sponsored by Abound Credit Union, the WKU Center for Financial Success partners with WKU Military and Student Services to host about three financial success presentations each fall and spring semester, according to Kent Johnson, WKU Military Student Services Director. The event will take place from 3:15 p.m. until 4:15 p.m in GRH room 1003 and will also be available on Zoom.

Johnson said the Center for Financial Success’ presentations typically connect in some way to military veterans or other military services on campus. He said that Ariel Lopez, WKU Center for Financial Success associate financial advisor, will lead the presentation. 

Johnson said Lopez will discuss in the presentation what drives an employee’s pay after graduation, how graduates can land a job or internship and how graduates can prepare themselves early on in their careers. Johnson said Lopez will also talk more about how to estimate take-home payments, how to budget and how to plan for high costs like housing and transportation after graduation.

Johnson said these presentations allow students to learn more about the free resources offered by the Center for Financial Success. He said both departments hope for a good turnout to the presentation, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Johnson said even when he thinks he knows everything about a financial planning topic, he still learns something new.

“I learn something every time I attend these,” Johnson said.
