WKU Cross Country heads to Commodore Classic for second meet of the season

WKU’s cross country team will be heading to Nashville, Tennessee this weekend to compete in its second meet of the season. 

The Commodore Classic is hosted by Vanderbilt and will take place at Percy Warner Park on Friday, Sept. 17. 

The meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT with the men’s team running an 8k. Shortly after, the women will be running a 5k around 9:15 a.m. CT. 

Both teams will be competing against 13 other schools, including a handful of Power Five programs.

The men’s team will be facing five teams that are ranked in the top ten of their respective regions. Those teams include Middle Tennessee, Missouri, Belmont, Kentucky and Central Arkansas. 

The women’s team will also be facing some of the same competitors. Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, Missouri, and Vanderbilt are all ranked in the top ten of their regions as well.

After this weekend, the team’s next meet will be in Louisville at the Live in Lou Classic on Oct. 2.
