Monday marked the end of an eventful first week of transfer portal news for WKU Baseball, closed off by four new entries and a withdrawal.
The late-week moves, coming after stars like Ryan Wideman, Drew Whalen and Carlos Vasquez entered the portal earlier in the week, push the total number of Hilltoppers in the portal to 17.
Senior Ethan Lizama entered the portal as a graduate transfer on June 5 via @JacobRunder on X. Lizama hit .336 with 15 doubles, 18 home runs and 60 RBIs. The Guam native was awarded CUSA Tournament Most Valuable Player after hitting .389 with three home runs and seven RBIs.Â
Junior Jack Bennett, who entered the portal on June 5 via @PeteNakos_ on X, was named to the All-CUSA Second Team after having a 7-1 season with a 3.13 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 63.1 innings.Â
Senior Caleb Marmo announced his portal entry as a graduate transfer on June 5 via X. In 36 at-bats, Marmo hit .222 with four RBIs and four stolen bases.Â
Redshirt sophomore Evan Jones announced his portal entry on June 4 via X. Jones made 14 appearances for WKU, tallying 16 strikeouts and three walks in 11.1 innings.Â
Junior Dawson Hall withdrew from the portal on June 5 via @64Analytics on X. Hall initially entered the portal on June 4.Â
