WKU Volleyball begins its Conference USA slate Friday and Saturday against Jacksonville State in E. A. Diddle Arena.
The Hilltoppers return to The Hill empty-handed after a midweek trip to face the University of Louisville, where WKU dropped three straight sets. The loss dropped the Hilltoppers to 9-4 overall.
Sophomore outside hitter Faith Young totaled nine kills against the Cardinals, followed by junior middle hitter Gabby Weihe and freshman outside hitter Sonja Laaksonen, who each posted six.
Right-side hitter Kaira Knox, who was injured Sept. 19 in game two of the Alyssa Cavanaugh Classic, did not return to face Louisville. She ranks second among the Hilltoppers in kills with 125.
A 1-2 record at the Dolphin Volleyball Classic last weekend brought Jacksonville State to 6-6 overall. Senior outside hitter Kayla Williams leads the Gamecock offense with 184 kills.
WKU has never dropped a set to Jacksonville State in the teams’ five previous meetings.
The first serves are set for 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, and 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. Friday’s match will be streamed on ESPN+.
