When WKU Alumni Michelle and Adam Brownlee realized the coronavirus would prevent their son’s 8th birthday party from happening, the couple jumped into action to make sure his special day would be a memorable one. They had seen on social media that other families were hosting birthday party parades in their neighborhoods and decided to host their own. Harrison’s father, Adam, an adjunct professor in the business school, set up a Facebook page and invited all their friends. Michelle says over 20 cars full of families participated. “We were just trying to make Harrison’s day special while still not making Andy (Beshear) mad. We were still social distancing correctly,” Michelle Brownlee said. As for what Harrison thought of it, in his words, it was plainly “Awesome!”
