Almost 900 students voted on the nearly 70 candidates running for a senator position in Student Government Association. Around midnight, Sept. 19, those election results were counted and announced.

Many students cast their ballots for senate over the course of the two days.

“I think it’s our responsibility as WKU students to elect individuals who have the desire and drive to improve WKU as a whole,” freshman Justin Oleynik said.

Student Body President Stephen Mayer called the turnout “amazing.”

Voting took place Sept. 17 and 18 and was available to students on TopNet. After the last votes were cast, SGA held a celebration in the Senate chambers.
