WKU’s All-Century Team to hold autograph session, meet-and-greet

Before Saturday’s home opener against Maine, WKU football’s All-Century Team will reunite to have a meet-and-greet and an autograph session with fans.

The event will take place in front of Parking Structure 2 from 3 to 4 p.m. WKU athletics will be giving away 3,000 of the All-Century Team posters that fans will be able to get signed by each member of the team in attendance.

“Us, representing the 100th edition of WKU football, it’s a big honor, it’s a big responsibility for our team,” head coach Mike Sanford said Monday. “We want all of our former players to know that they are always welcome around our team. When you have 100 years of legacies, 100 years of history, that says a lot.”

The poster includes every player of the team including co-head coaches Jimmy Feix and Jack Harbaugh. 

Members that are confirmed to be in attendance include:

Running back: Bobby Rainey (2008-2011) 

Wide receiver: Porter Williams (1970-1973)                        

Offensive line: Buster Ashley (2001-2004), Chris Price (1999-2002), David Carter (1973-1976)

Defensive line: Lawrence Brame (1967-1970), John Bushong (1971-1974), Tim Ford (1979-1981)

Linebackers: Sherrod Coates (1999-2002), Paul Gray (1980-1983), Rick Green (1972-1975) 

Defensive backs: Jim Burt (1961-1964), Joseph Jefferson (1998-2001), Virgil Livers (1971-1974)

Punter: Brian Claybourn (2001-2004)

Kick returner: Joey Stockton (1994-1997)

The families of Jimmy Feix, Dickie Moore and Jim “Yogi” Hardin will be in attendance as well.

After the autograph session the team will lead the 2018 Hilltoppers down the Topper Walk and will also be recognized at halftime during the game.

The meet-and-greet will be followed by Cage the Elephant performing on South Lawn at 4:30 p.m.Kickoff for the Maine vs. WKU game is set for 6:30 p.m.
