David Lee, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs, has named Larry Snyder, who was serving as interim dean of Potter College of Arts & Letters, as dean of the college, according to an email sent to faculty and staff on Friday.

“Serving as Dean of Potter College is a wonderful opportunity. Larry’s collaborative and inclusive leadership style is perfectly suited to a diverse and dynamic college like Potter, and I’m looking forward to seeing the exciting future that he and his colleagues will build,” Lee said in the email.

Snyder’s appointment concluded a five-month national search which attracted more than 50 applicants.

“Potter College has been home for most of my academic career.  It was — and remains — a great place to work and study, one filled with talented students and a gifted faculty. And I am excited by the opportunity to provide some measure of service and leadership to the college that has nurtured my professional life,” Snyder said in the press release.
