According to an e-mail sent to residents of the WKU Apartments on Kentucky St., Housing and Residence Life has updated its Hilltopics section regarding motorized and electronic vehicles.

The new policy reads, “Motorized vehicles and electronic skateboards, including hover boards, self-balancing scooters, and other similar equipment are prohibited from being used, stored and/or charged in all university-managed residence halls and apartments.”

Signs went up in the Downing Student Union in November reminding students the use of motorized vehicles inside campus buildings was prohibited.

The University of Kentucky announced a temporary ban on hover board devices last week and other Kentucky universities are currently considering a similar ban.

The Herald will update this story as more information becomes available.
