New university registrar named

Herald Staff

Tiffany Robinson was named the new university registrar by Brian Meredith, chief enrollment and graduation officer, via email Monday.

Robinson was the director of the Office of the Registrar at Southern Illinois University Carbondale before being hired by WKU. Robinson replaces WKU’s previous University Registrar, Freida Eggleton, who retired in June after 28 years of holding the position.

Eggleton told the Herald in March that she planned to work for WKU part time as the NCAA academic compliance coordinator starting in July.

The registrar oversees the responsibilities of the Office of the Registrar, which include a wide variety of activities, such as coordinating six commencement ceremonies a year, producing the annual undergraduate catalog, course registration and grade submissions and changes, according to the job description posted on WKU’s Academic Affairs website.

Robinson brings knowledge and experience in curriculum, registration, academic records and graduation, Meredith said in the email.

“With more than 15 years in higher education, Ms. Robinson will provide the leadership and vision to continue the tradition of success of the Office of the Registrar,” he said.

Robinson will start her job Aug. 4.
