NEW ORLEANS — Following a quarterfinal victory over Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday, the No. 2-seed Lady Toppers will play No. 3-seed Arkansas-Little Rock in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

A win over the Lady Trojans would solidify the 20th Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship game appearance for WKU (22-8). UALR has eliminated the Lady Toppers from Sun Belt Conference Tournament play in two consecutive seasons.

The Lady Toppers notched a 26-point victory over UALR on Jan. 15 in Diddle Arena before dropping a 58-51 decision to the Lady Trojans on Feb. 8 in Little Rock, Ark. WKU has won every game since then.

Junior forward Chastity Gooch led the Lady Toppers to a 10-point comeback victory over No. 7-seed ULL in round one on Wednesday night with 21 points and 14 rebounds. She averaged 16 points and 7.5 rebounds against UALR during the season series.

A WKU victory would advance the Lady Toppers to the championship game on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. against the winner of Friday’s matchup between No. 1-seed Arkansas State and No. 4-seed Texas State.
