Just before the Sun Belt Conference Tournament begins, three WKU players have been honored by the Sun Belt coaches on Tuesday.

Redshirt freshman guard Chris Harrison-Docks has been named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year for his performance in his first season on the Hill.

Junior guard T.J. Price was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference second team and junior forward George Fant was named to the third team.

A transfer from Butler who had to sit out the first semester, Harrison-Docks first debuted on Dec. 14 against Louisville and has maintained a firm grip on the team’s lead guard position. He’s averaging 10 points and 2.2 assists per game this season.

Price and Fant are the team’s top scorers with the former leading the way at 15.4 per game and the latter knotting 13.2 per contest. Fant also averages a team-leading 6.8 rebounds per game.

The trip helped lead the Toppers to the No. 2 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. They earned a double-bye and will play Saturday in the semi-finals against a team to be determined.
