Kene Anyigbo, a junior forward for the WKU basketball team and defensive end for the football team, was arrested early Sunday morning in Warren County.

Anyigbo was charged with possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence and failure to illuminate head lamps. His initial bond was set at $2000.

Anyigbo was a key reserve for the WKU basketball team in its recent run to the NCAA Tournament and recently joined the football team as a defensive end. He had participated in two spring football practices so far.

“We are aware of the charges. We are gathering more information and are handling the matter internally as it relates to WKU Athletics,” Athletics Director Todd Stewart said in a statement about the incident.
