Morgan State completes WKU’s 2013-14 football schedule

The lineup of opponents in WKU’s 2013-14 football schedule is complete.

Morgan State, the 12th and final team WKU scheduled, will play the Toppers in Bowling Green on Sept. 21.

The departure of Middle Tennessee State in November left a hole in the 2013-14 football schedule that WKU needed to fill. The Toppers will play five nonconference games and seven games against Sun Belt Conference opponents next season.

Morgan State, a Football Championship Subdivision member that plays in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, went 3-8 last season. The Toppers and the Bears have never played each other.

WKU will open the season on the road Aug. 31 against Kentucky in Nashville. The Toppers will then travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on Tennessee before opening their home schedule against Morgan State.

WKU’s nonconference schedule will close with a home game against Navy Sept. 28 and a road game against Army Nov. 9.
