Alabama gameday information for WKU fans

Herald Staff

The following information is courtesy of Alabama’s athletics department and concerns logistical gameday procedures for WKU fans who are making the trip to Tuscaloosa for this Saturday’s game.

The University of Alabama is excited to host the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers this Saturday at 2:30pm CDT on our campus.  We want to make your visit the best gameday experience possible.

I am including some information that I hope you will distribute to your friends, family, colleagues and others who are coming to the game.

  • On-campus RV parking is sold out but our website lists several off-campus properties that have availability for the game weekend.
  • Public parking is available on the east side of campus near the Rec Center and the Medical Center. It is $30/vehicle in paved lots. You can purchase a paved lot parking pass online and print the pass at home for $25 on our website www.uagameday.com. Grass parking is also available on the east side of campus for $20 on a first come/first serve basis. The Crimson Ride transit system serves this area and drops fans off at the Quad, just two blocks from Bryant Denny Stadium. These shuttles begin running at 7 a.m. on game day and run for 90 minutes post game.
  • Parking for people with disabilities can also be purchased on a single game basis at our website www.uagameday.com. We have three lots near the stadium and a parking deck/surface lot off of Campus Drive for $30.00 on game day that is served by buses to the stadium. The shuttles to the stadium will begin 3 hours prior to kickoff.
  • You can find links on www.uagameday.com to hotel and restaurants in the area and attractions and special events in Tuscaloosa.
  • If you are coming through Birmingham to Tuscaloosa, stay on I 20/59 through Birmingham.

I 459 is overcrowded on a gameday and you may experience some delays due to congestion.

This is UA’s first home game and we expect a huge crowd. We suggest you arrive early, park in public parking on our East Campus area, ride Crimson Ride to the Quad where you will experience a frenzy of fans tailgating. You will find food vendors, gameday souvenirs and you can hear the Million Dollar Band warm up before the Elephant Stomp.

I hope you find the website www.uagameday.com a useful tool for planning a trip to Tuscaloosa. Please feel free to share this email with others who would benefit from the information. Thank you!
