The WKU football program announced Wednesday afternoon via social media that redshirt junior defensive tackle Mike Allen is transferring from Wake Forest to play on the Hill after not playing in the 2020 season.

Allen played in 11 games over two years for the Demon Deacons, racking up six total tackles, three of those solo tackles.

Allen made his collegiate debut on November 3, 2018 against then-no. 19 Syracuse after redshirting his freshman year. He played nine snaps with one tackle during the game. He played in the remaining four games that season and recorded a fumble recovery in the regular season finale against Duke.

In 2019, Allen totaled 87 downs along with a career high 18 against North Carolina State. He also made a solo tackle in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl against Michigan State on Dec. 27, 2019.

According to Rivals.com, Allen was ranked a four-star prospect and the 169th best player in the nation in 2016. He also was considered a three-star prospect by 247sports before he committed to Wake Forest on August 8, 2016. He received 29 offers, including ones from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Notre Dame.
