Houchens-Smith Stadium to return to full capacity, kickoff times announced for WKU’s conference games

Houchens-Smith Stadium 16 days prior to the first home game of the 2020 football home opener against Liberty University.

Full-capacity crowds will be returning to Houchens-Smith Stadium in the Fall, WKU Athletics announced on Tuesday. WKU will be adhering to all local and state health guidelines on gameday. 

Conference USA also confirmed the kickoff times for WKU Football’s slate of conference games for the 2021 season. 

The Hilltoppers will begin conference play against the UTSA Roadrunners at home on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. CT before embarking on a two-game road trip with games against Old Dominion on Oct. 16 at 2:30 CT and FIU on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. CT. Both games will be broadcast on the ESPN Network.

WKU will return to Bowling Green for homecoming at 3 p.m. on Oct. 30 against the Charlotte 49ers and will stay in town to host rival Middle Tennessee at 2:30 p.m. CT on Nov. 6.

The Hilltoppers will travel to Houston, Texas for a matchup with the Rice Owls at 1 p.m. CT on Nov. 13. WKU will then host FAU at 11 a.m. CT on Nov. 20 before traveling to Huntington, West Virginia to close the season against Marshall on Nov. 27 at 2:30 p.m. CT.
