WKU men’s basketball closes regular season with 34 point loss to UNT

WKU men’s basketball (16-15) fell to the University of North Texas (25-6) 67-33 on Saturday, March 4. The 34 point loss concluded the Hilltoppers regular season play.

Senior center Jamarion Sharp led the team with eight points and 11 rebounds. Senior guard Jordan Rawls followed closely behind, putting up seven points. Junior forward Tyrone Marshall also contributed with two of WKU’s five assists.

The Hilltoppers went 5-14 in free throws and had a 27.7% field goal percentage. The team had a total of 33 rebounds with the majority being defensive at 23. Additionally, WKU committed eight fouls as opposed to North Texas’ 12.

The Hilltoppers finished the regular season with the seven seed in C-USA.

WKU will face the ten seed, University of El Paso Texas (14-17), in the first round of the C-USA Championship Wednesday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m. CST. The winner of the game will play Florida Atlantic University on Thursday, March 9.

The tournament will take place in Frisco, Texas March 8-11.
