WKU to host ‘100 Miles of Hope’ Blood Drive this week

WKU will host the 100 Miles of Hope blood drive this week in competition with Middle Tennessee State University in preparation for the game this Thursday. 

The blood drive is located in the Preston Health and Activity Center on the basketball and tennis courts. The drive will accept donations Sep. 25- Sept. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Students are encouraged to make an appointment before entering the drive. Appointments can be made via the American Red Cross website and entering sponsor code “WKU” or through the WKU Blood Drive website and following the instructions. 

Individuals wishing to donate should be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and meet a certain criteria to be eligible to donate. Other criteria can be found via the WKU Blood Drive website. Donors will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last. 

Parking is available for donors at South Lawn, and 10 spots will be reserved each day. 

Donors have the chance to win free prizes upon their donation. Available gifts include: a coupon by email for a free haircut at Sport Clips Haircuts, a trip for two and VIP NASCAR experience to the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series & Xfinity Races and a $20 Amazon gift card by email. 

Students are encouraged to donate if able to do so.
