WKU Soccer fell in their regular season finale against Sam Houston 1-0 Friday night.
With the season on the line and a trip to the Conference USA tournament at stake, WKU hosted Sam Houston at the WKU Soccer Complex. Despite outshooting the Bearkats 11-7, Sam Houston won the shots on goal battle 3-2.
In the 83rd minute, Sam Houston ended the stalemate, scoring on a shot that bounced down off the crossbar. WKU tried to respond with multiple good looks late, but they couldn’t capitalize, as one shot went over the cross bar.
With the loss, the Lady Toppers finish the season 3-8-5 (1-3-5 CUSA). They went six straight games without a win.
Senior goalkeeper Maddie Davis finished with two saves.
The loss concludes the 2024 season.
