WKU Men’s Basketball added its sixth transfer of the spring Tuesday with the addition of transfer Grant Newell from North Texas. The announcement came from CBS College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein on X.
The 6-foot-9 junior forward averaged 6.2 points per game on 40% shooting from the field last season. He averaged 3.6 rebounds and shot 33% from beyond the arc.
During the American Athletic Conference and National Invitational (NIT) Tournaments, Newell averaged 7.3 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. He shot 50% from beyond the arc.
Before transferring to North Texas, Newell played his freshman and sophomore seasons at California, averaging 8.0 points per game his freshman year and 5.5 points per game his sophomore year.
