A new exhibit, “Zys West: New Works,” is on display in the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center Corridor Gallery.
The exhibit will be on display on the second floor of the FAC from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Dec. 5.
Zysede West will have their work displayed at the exhibit.
West is a “queer photographer” who grew up and lives in southern Kentucky, according to their website, and has worked as a portrait photographer for over seven years.
Their work focuses primarily on individual, two-person and small group portraiture, according to the website. It stated that they mix their “creative storytelling style” with “relaxed and candid” poses and compositions.
“I offer an especially unique experience of portraiture for queer clients in which they get to see themselves through the lens of another queer person, while working with someone who understands their experience,” the website stated. “I believe portraits should be accessible to everyone, and I strive to work with as many types of people as possible in my photographic work.”
