After a three-game road trip, WKU Women’s Basketball will be back inside Diddle Arena Thursday to take on the 10-15(3-11) UTEP Miners.
The Lady Toppers come back home after winning two of the three road games. Most recently the Lady Toppers defeated Louisiana Tech in comeback fashion 78-73.
“It was really a team win, we all came together at halftime, when we huddled up the one thing I told them was I put it in their head we weren’t going to lose this game,” senior guard Alexis Mead said in Tuesday’s weekly press conference.
It has been the junior guard Josie Gilvin show recently for the Lady Toppers. Gilvin has been a focal point for the Lady Toppers coming off of three straight double-doubles. This season Gilvin is averaging 11.8 points a game.
UTEP defeated Jacksonville State 52-44 in its last outing. The Miners are led by senior guard Ivan Tensaie who averages 13.1 points per game. The last time the Lady Toppers and UTEP met Tensaie led the Miners with 18 points.
Earlier this season the Lady Toppers got the best of the Miners on the road 65-59 as UTEP looks to get redemption and split the season series.
The game is set for 6:30 on ESPN+.
