Air Force veteran says Trump is ‘lesser of two evils’

Curtis Long voted for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday at the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport. Long said he was strongly “anti-Clinton.” “When Clinton let those people die in Benghazi, that was enough right there for me,” Long said. “I don’t worry about me, I worry about our children and grandchildren.”

Curtiss Long, 73, is a registered Independent, but he voted straight Republican today.

Long said he is also a veteran of the Air Force.

“When (Hillary) Clinton let those people die in Benghazi, that was enough right there for me,” Long said. “If you’re willing to do that for political expediency, I have no respect for you.”

To Long, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is by far the lesser of two evils. He said he made up his mind about this election in 1992, when he became “firmly anti-Clinton.”

Long said he believes Trump is the better candidate because he said he has a track record of successful corporations.

Long has six grandchildren with two more on the way, and he finds Clinton’s stance on abortion to be “abhorrent.”

Neither candidate is ideal, Long said, because Clinton is in poor health and Trump is 70 years old.

“I don’t worry about me,” Long said. “I worry about our children and grandchildren.”
