An English teacher at Bowling Green High School and recent graduate of WKU, Kirsten Hunt, 23, voted this afternoon at the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport.

Hunt said she decided to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as soon as Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump became the Republican nominee.

The issues in the election that are most important to her are women’s rights, guns rights, college debt and student loans.

“[Clinton] believes women’s rights are human rights,” Hunt said.

She showed the second presidential debate to her high school students and told them to watch for both candidates’ rhetoric.

“They’re really afraid of Donald Trump,” Hunt said. “They think he’s kinda terrible.”

Hunt said just the one debate was enough for everyone. “It’s good to show how politicians speak to us and how they can influence us with their words,” she said.
