Conference USA announced Thursday that five of WKU’s 12 regular-season football games in its first year in the league will be televised nationally.

The Toppers have appeared in 28 televised games since the 2011 season. More 2014 games have the potential to be picked up before the schedule is finalized.

Three games will air on CBS Sports Network, including WKU’s home opener against Bowling Green State on August 29, a road match-up with Navy on Sept. 27 and a home game against Army on Nov. 15.

Three games will also air on the family of Fox Sports networks. WKU will face Louisiana Tech and the University of Texas at San Antonio on Nov. 1 and Nov. 22, respectively, on Fox Sports Network, while the Toppers’ road match-up with Marshall on Nov. 28 is slated to air on Fox Sports 1.

First-year head coach Jeff Brohm knows national exposure has the potential to benefit many aspects of the program, according to a press release.

“National television adds an extra level of excitement to the game and we’re definitely going to enjoy the spotlight for these games,” Brohm said. “The exposure not only allows our out-of-town fans to watch us in action, it helps with recruiting and in all other areas of promoting our program.”
