One of WKU’s most-targeted recruits will make his college decision Thursday.

Class of 2012 Memphis (Tenn.) Central High School guard Andre Applewhite will announce his college destination at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at his high school, according to 247sports.com.

Applewhite, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound shooting guard, will reportedly decide between WKU, Arkansas State, Memphis, the College of Charleston and Mississippi State, where he visited Tuesday.

Applewhite, an All-State performer in Tennessee, finished his senior year with a 16.7 points per game average.

Both WKU and Mississippi State fans took to social media on Wednesday shortly after news broke that Applewhite would make a decision, sending tweets to his Twitter account, @DreApplewhite3, in support of their respective schools.

Applewhite re-tweeted several tweets from fans of both teams.

Later in the morning, @WKUSports and @TopsCompliance both sent tweets reminding fans that contacting potential student athletes via social media is against NCAA rules.
