WKU Softball’s junior Brylee Hage was named Conference USA Player of the Week after her outstanding performance against ranked No. 24 Charlotte this past weekend.

Hage’s skills at the plate helped her team to win their first series against a ranked team since 2013.

This accomplishment is also a huge milestone for the program, as it marks the third time a Hilltopper has won the award this season. Previously, Taylor Sanders and Bailey Curry earned the honor.

During her time In Charlotte, North Carolina, Hage went 5-for-12 at the plate while also hitting the first home run of her college career and two doubles. In total, she had five RBIs and a weekend slash line of .417/.417/.833.

The weekend also brought Hage two multi-hit games along with extending her hitting streak to six games. In the final game on Sunday, she went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and the home run that tied up the score and allowed the Hilltoppers to defeat the 49ers.

The Hilltoppers record now sits at 18-4 as they are back home on Friday to start their second C-USA series of the season versus University of Texas at El Paso.
